歷史與人文

Kyoto became Japan's capital 'Heian-kyo' in 794 and remained for over a millennium the imperial seat and center of politics, culture and religion, nurturing court culture, Zen aesthetics and refined crafts. Largely spared from WWII air raids, much of its old architecture and townscape survives today.
